the m family | charlotte family photographer

It was an unfortunate set of circumstances that brought this family and me together for a session, but that did not keep us from embracing the moment.  Beyond the few tears shed (by me) at the beginning and end of our time together—tears of hope, prayer, and strength—the beautiful Sunday evening we spent together was about joy, love, and laughs between this wonderful family, and, well, me.  I came away from our session with a tremendous feeling of community, and some new friends.  All my best to the M family…

Snow!

After going all of last winter without any snow, we were so happy to actually have some this year, and twice.  On the second day of March—in like a lion, as they say—snow was such a surprise for this Saturday morning.  Knowing how snow goes here in Charlotte, here one day and gone the next, my kids were out as soon as they could get their boots and coats on to enjoy the falling snow.  We didn’t get enough snow to make a snowman or throw snowballs or even sled, so I enjoyed the peaceful wintery weather mostly from indoors.  Ella and Jack enjoyed every moment of just being outside amongst it.

tucker + family | charlotte baby photographer

It’s sweet little baby Tucker!  I visited Tucker’s beautiful family again at their home, this time for his 6-month session.  My how time flies.  But, I just adore this age.  So soft and chubby and sweet, with cute little pink toes, but also now so full of personality.  It was right about this wonderfully yummy age of my oldest child that I decided I needed another one of these cuties, and as soon as possible…crazy, I know (yes, my kids are 16 months apart)…but how can you resist this sweetness…

james | charlotte lifestyle newborn photographer

I photographed little James and his family less than a week before Christmas and just six days after he was born.  Like Tucker, this little baby boy has an adorable, energetic big sister, too.  Molly is going to be an amazing big sister, already doting on little James and even singing him to sleep for us during his session.  The beautiful image of Molly and James that made it to their Christmas card—I did a quick one-day turnaround on just a few images—will always be one my favorites.  There are several more, however, that tug at my heartstrings because they show the love and happiness of this family so well.
